Learning outcomes will be assessed by demonstrating a complete session on the last day of the program. Students learn body mechanics and how to support and gently stretch their clients in warm water. They will learn to co-ordinate their movements with the receiver's breath and be sensitive to their boundaries, adapting moves as necessary for each individual. In Watsu® I and II they will learn a sequence with seamlessly flowing transitions. In Watsu® II, Shiatsu points and additional techniques are facilitated by correct hand placements based on a understanding of the bony structure of the skeleton and especially the vertebral column. In Watsu® III students will learn additional advanced positions, expand their WATSU® vocabulary, enhance their spontaneous creativity and develop their own personal style.
Our courses conclude with a formal assessment and the participants who successfully pass this assessment will receive a Certificate. We have a form which we fill in during the completion session Friday morning. The assessment is based on the information in the above paragraph. The form is available for viewing in the logbook. The logbook can be viewed and downloaded at the www.waba.edu web site. On the homepage there is a choice for students to logon. Choose this, and find and print the logbook.
