Aquatic Massage

Aquatic Massage is one of the most sought after forms of therapy in today's fast paced and very stressful world. Aquatic massage is also one of the more potent massages out there today. This is primarily because of its philosophy. As its name suggests, it is a massage that is conducted in the water. Let us take the two elements that are involved in this very popular form of massage and describe them to better have an understanding of the fundamental philosophy of it. The word "aquatic" means that this form of massage has to do with water. It is very much common knowledge what the properties of water are. Water is calm and at the same time powerful. Water can give life as well as destroy it. It is the fundamental element of life. The other word, "massage" is something that we all need when our bodies are stressed out by the pressures of the fast-paced life that we live. Massage helps us relax and release all the worries and tension that we have in our muscles. So if we put these two together, it makes for one of the most potent and relaxing forms of massage that there is today.

This Aquatic Massage is now called Watsu®. Watsu®is a combination of the words "WATer" and "ShiatSU". First of all, we all know Shiatsu as not just any kind of massage. Shiatsu is an Asian form of massage that has been around for many centuries. It is the fruit of many years of study and practice. Therefore, if we put one of the richest and most effective massages in the world together with one of the most powerful and calming elements in the world, what we have is a form of therapy that is unmatched in its ability to rejuvenate the human body. This is now called Watsu®, an aquatic massage that you can experience and take advantage of. We at Minakshi's Aquatic Bodywork Island Studio are now offering courses with which you or anybody else can become a full-fledged Watsu® therapist! You can now have a formal background in aquatic massage so that you can extend your network of clients and also be trusted in the field of Watsu® therapy. Our courses cover different levels of Watsu® namely Watsu®I, Watsu® II, Watsu® III (Free Flow), WaterDancing®, and Aquatic Shiatsu® which consists of Fire and Water® I and II.
